About our Designs
All scarves here are designed by Ellen Meiselman, a digital artist residing in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Many of the designs are based on Fractals, a type of mathematical formula that produces self-similar images, where the same shapes occur over and over at different levels of magnification. This is called the "symmetry of scale," rather than symmetry along an axis.This type of symmetry occurs frequently in natural objects, including tree branching, flowers, coastlines, and in many processes as well.
